WHY CP FUNSHO ADEGBOYE EMERGED MOST HUMBLE POLICEMAN OF THE YEAR

Addressing the protesters in Benin City Commissioner of Police Edo State Command, CP FUNSHO ADEGBOYE urged Edo state protesters to conduct themselves in peaceful manners.

He recalled that during 2020 End SARS protest, he was not in charge of Edo state police command. He said his name is CP FUNSHO ADEGBOYE, the commissioner of police Edo state command.I am a peace maker and police officer. So I am leading my men to protect the protesters on peaceful protest, not to cause violence.

Commissioner of police Edo state command Cp Funsho Adegboye, is a peace ambassador, pathfinder, inspirational speaker and communication specialist, Public administrator and gallant practical police officer.

He said he came as an ambassador of peace not to shoot anybody. My mission is to lead you on peaceful protest and provide security and the necessary support to make the protest go peacefully without violence, or destroying Government properties.

We did not come to block road for the protesters not to match along the major road of Edo state. He hails Edo youths. We are here to make the protesters comfortable. We are not here to threaten you, intimidate and harass anybody, because youths are the leaders of tomorrow.

He was very humble to the core. The Edo protesters were very courageous for commissioner of eloquent speech. Nigeria police are friendly behave well to your friends. CP Adegboye urged the protesters to reciprocate the trust police reposed in them to behave well throughout the protest. Police are behind you, and we will provide water, food, biscuit and medical aids for you in your peaceful protest. And I will deal with any protesters who will instigate violence. Our agreement is peaceful protest which is legitimate. Anyone who goes against peaceful protest or demonstration will collect from the police. May God let us not afflict ourselves with disagreement that will result to killing. You have asked your demand from the Government and do not make hate speech or messages to turn the people against the Government. You are here to sing songs that is pertaining to peace in the country. Police officers are matching with you.

CP Adegboye was hailing the live audience. He preached a sermon that sound different as a police officer. What are your legitimate demands? Do not go beyond our agreement for peaceful protest. In a chat with City Express News, CP Funsho Adegboye said protesters in Edo state are very friendly and they are not destructive likes others state. CP Adegboye advice the protesters to go civil so that the Government can meet up their demands. Edo State Police boss advice the protesters not allow themselves to be used by rudderless politicians. He charged the youths to be peaceful because they are the leaders of tomorrow. City Express News gathered that CP Funsho Adegboye remarkable humility made the protesters to go peaceful. It would be remembered as the first commissioner of police of Edo state and Nigeria to lead protesters in peaceful and demonstration without destruction, killing and destroying of properties. It is not out of place to say and acknowledge the symbolism of the act. His philosophy and characteristic motivated the protesters to be calm, loyal and peaceful in protest. But perhaps we would appreciate cp Adegboye’s remarkable humility better if we realized that his police command was the first to lead protesters without killing and sharing blood.
